Noted for her "golden-voiced" singing (Voix des Arts) and "deft hand at verbal and physical comedy" (The Isthmus), Nicole Heinen has dazzled audiences with her demanding stage presence. As a Baumgartner Studio Artist, highlights in the 18/19 season include her debut with Florentine Opera as Miss Frayne and Margaret Hughes (cover) in Carlisle Floyd's Prince of Players, Fortuna/Valletto in Claudio Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea and singing in the 85th Anniversary Concert. Miss Heinen returned to the Caroga Lake Music Festival for her third consecutive year to perform Samuel Barber's Knoxville, Summer 1915.

Recent roles have included Mademoiselle Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, La Fée in Cendrillon, #1 in Transformations, and Atalanta in Serse. She has toured with Opera for the Young as Adina in their production of Elixir of Love and participated with the company in the Ravinia Festival. Miss Heinen is a recent District Winner (Wisconsin) as part of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She is also the recipient of the IAET Award (Casa Italia Competition), 3rd place in the Joseph P. Glimco Competition and was a 2017 finalist in the Handel Aria Competition.

In addition to opera, Miss Heinen equally enjoys performing concert and chamber music. Credits include singing the soprano soloist in Mozart's Mass in C Minor and Requiem, Gounod's St. Cecilia Mass, Handel's Messiah, and Bach's St. Matthew Passion.

During the 2019/2020 season Miss Heinen would have made her debut with Chautauqua Opera performing Lillian Russell in Virgil Thomson's The Mother of Us All and covering the role of Mukhtar Mai in Kamala Sankaram's Thumbprint. However, due to COVID-19, the festival took place virtually this year.
